We work with farmer collectives to crowd source inputs and aggregate produce for output markets through digital platforms that increase visibility to medium and large buyers at favorable market prices and advise on delivery mechanisms. Linking the farmer and farmer collective with off takers not only provides for a sure output market but improves access to financial services for the farmer household. We integrate the farmer, the extension agent, financial service providers and the off-taker to provide for a seamless farming experience within the farmer’s ecosystem.
How We Do It
We help farmers grow and sell more crops. A few simple steps can make farms far more productive.
- Farmer groups decide what crop to grow as individual members maintain individual growing records on Last mile platform using a USSD (*217*229#)short code
- Upon harvesting, members post actual crop harvest in Kgs. This is aggregated at group level and groups aggregated at district level on the Last Mile dashboard. This information appears in a marketplace for off-takers to consume.
- Interest in produce leads to market price negotiations between the parties and a win-win deal is made.
